This limited-edition t-shirt features a print of my original Thangka line drawing of Green Tara.
(Only one shirt still available, 2x-large only - No reprint intended)

This shirt was gifted to each of the participants in ‘Love in Public’, a year-long guided contemplation and practice on Cornel West’s teaching “Justice is what love looks like in public.” You can learn more about this project by downloading the Love in Public ‘zine as a PDF.

More about this image...

The Buddha Green Tara is the embodiment of compassionate action. Her right foot extends off her lotus throne, showing that she is always willing to engage in what arises. She is a rarity as Tibetan teachings say if compassion were to take a form, it would take the form of a male body, while wisdom would take the form of a female body.

These shirts were printed by ThsTht, an at the time Asian-owned print shop which unfortunately did not make it through the pandemic. The design is printed on Bella+Canvas tri-blend shirts, an L.A.-based wholesaler and retailer with a focus on worker’s rights and environmentally ethical manufacturing.
